PLEASE PRAY FOR THE REPOSE OF SOULS OF RELIGIOUS SISTERS SHOT AND KILLED IN SOUTH SUDAN

Rev. Sr. Regina Roba and Mother Mary Abut, are Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Juba, who were shot dead along with three others in an attack by gunmen on the Nimule Road, Eastern Equitoria, South Sudan on Monday, August 16, 2021, as they were returning from the celebration of 100 Years of Faith in nearby Loa.

Other travelers were injured. Sr. Regina was a teacher at Nurses Training School in Way. Mother Mary was the former Superior General of the Congregation. Mother Mary has had encounters with Fr. Herald and FMO, both of whom have collaborated with the Sisters of the Sacred Heart, both in South Sudan and Uganda. The Archdiocese of Juba has proclaimed a week of mourning and closed all of its Institutions through Friday, August 21.

Let us all pray for the repose of the Souls of these Sisters, others that lost their lives and those that sustained injuries. May the Lord bless them and keep them all. Amen.
