In a viral video, the Archdiocese of Mexico shared a post of a blind boy - Joel, who sang with a beautiful voice, the 'Maria look at me' song in front of the Statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Captioned, although in Spanish, on the Facebook Account of the Archdiocese is: “Joel is a blind boy from Saint Peter the  Apostle Parish, in Cuajimalpa de Morelos, who usually sings to the Blessed Virgin Mary and her Son Jesus, begging them to look at him, and to allow him to look at them with the eyes of his heart”.

In the video, Joel is captured, apparently in a School uniform, singing the song in front of the statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, whose feast day is celebrated on July 15

Joel, blind, is an 11 year old boy, born in Toluca. His parents often take him to church and he accompanies them happily.

According to the Catholic weekly Desde la Fe, of the Archdiocese of Mexico, assures that Joel has told his parents since he was 4 years old: "I want to be a saint."

Beneath is the lyrics of the song that Joel sang:

Maria, look at me
Maria, look at me
If you look at me
He will look at me too

My mother, look at me Take me
by the hand
Very close to Him
That I want to stay there

Mary, cover me with your mantle
I'm afraid, I don't know how to pray Because
of your merciful eyes
I'll have strength, I'll have peace

Maria, look at me
Maria, look at me
If you look at me
He will look at me too

My mother, look at me Take me
by the hand
Very close to Him
That I want to stay there

Mother, console me for my sorrows
It's because I don't want to offend you more
Than for your merciful eyes
I want to go to heaven and see them now

Maria, look at me
Maria, look at me
If you look at me
He will look at me too

My mother, look at me Take me
by the hand
Very close to Him
That I want to stay there

Maria, look at me
Maria, look at me
If you look at me
He will look at me too

My mother, look at me Take me
by the hand
Very close to Him
That I want to stay there

In your arms I want
to rest.

May Our Lady of Mount Carmel heed Joel's plea and grant his heart desires, through Christ our Lord.

Don't forget to pray for Joel.
