Catholic Priest sentenced to Prison for blocking planned Parenthood Facility

A Catholic priest named Father Fidelis Moscinski has been sentenced to six months in prison for his actions at a Planned Parenthood abortion facility. He was found guilty of violating the federal FACE Act for an incident that took place on July 7, 2022, in Hempstead, NY.

According to court testimony, Father Fidelis engaged in a solitary rescue attempt by placing multiple locks on the gate leading to the facility's entrance. When the local fire department removed the locks, he physically obstructed cars by lying in the driveway until local police took him into custody.

During the court proceedings, an interview that Father Fidelis had recorded for EWTN's show Pro-Life Weekly was presented as evidence of his intention to block access. However, the defense argued that the interview demonstrated his intent to assist parents considering abortion rather than disrupt the facility's staff or services.

The defense further contended that since the rescue only resulted in a 10-minute traffic obstruction and there were no complaints from patients entering Planned Parenthood that day, it should be treated as a local misdemeanor and not prosecuted.

In his sentencing hearing, Father Moscinski expressed his motivation, stating, "My actions on July 7th, 2022, were driven by the fact that Planned Parenthood, as an organization, is involved in terminating innocent human lives." He elaborated that every abortion performed on their premises constituted the deliberate killing of an innocent human being and inflicted profound spiritual and psychological harm on the mothers. He also mentioned his awareness of evidence presented by the House Select Panel on Infant Lives, which alleged that Planned Parenthood profited from the harvesting and sale of unborn children's body parts, a practice he deemed revolting.

The Catholic priest criticized Planned Parenthood's founder, Margaret Sanger, referring to her as a known racist and eugenicist. He highlighted the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade, acknowledging the end of the misconception that abortion was a constitutional right. However, he criticized the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which he perceived as an attempt to mask the act of abortion under the guise of "reproductive health care.

"Father Moscinski argued that violating this law should not be considered a guilt-ridden offense since it aimed to protect actions that he viewed as inherently evil and unjust. He expressed his disagreement with legal positivism, emphasizing the necessity of aligning civil laws with the natural moral law discernible through human reason and revealed by God in the Ten Commandments. He requested the court's leniency, asserting that a correction of the mistaken guilty verdict could mitigate the injustice.

During the trial, Jennifer Bono, the Director of health center operations at the Planned Parenthood facility in question, contradicted herself by claiming there were complaints, despite previously informing the FBI that there were none.

The defense attorneys argued that the government was unfairly discriminating against Father Fidelis based on his viewpoint, which the judge disregarded.

Terrisa Bukovinac, the founder and executive director of PAAU, a pro-life group for liberals, expressed her outrage at the continued use of the FACE Act to target pro-life activism in a post-Roe v. Wade America. She hailed Father Fidelis as a hero for physically intervening between the babies and their perceived killers, encouraging others to do the same.

Father Moscinski's dedication to saving babies from abortion has led him to face jail time on previous occasions.

Last year, Father Moscinski, along with two other pro-life advocates, was sentenced to 90 days in jail and fined $500 for entering an abortion facility and refusing to leave.

During the courtroom proceedings, Father Moscinski referenced the biblical passage from Isaiah, expressing his disapproval of calling abortion a right. He lamented the disallowance of the justification defense and believed that the injustice was further compounded by the jury and the sentencing. He concluded his statement by invoking the blood of Jesus on the courtroom.

On November 27, Father Moscinski, along with Will Goodman and Matthew Connolly, participated in a Red Rose Rescue at All Women's Medical, an abortion facility located in White Plains, New York.

The Red Rose Rescue is a peaceful action in which pro-life advocates enter an abortion facility to offer information and support to women inside. Some advocates choose to remain in the facility until law enforcement compels them to leave, as an act of solidarity with the unborn babies scheduled for abortion.

According to reports, the three advocates entered the waiting room of the abortion facility, with one of them blocking the entrance to prevent patients from entering. They remained inside for two hours and were eventually physically removed by the police, as stated by Westchester County District Attorney Mimi Rocah.

Monica Migliorino Miller, the director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and a participant in Red Rose Rescue, explained that their mission is rooted in helping mothers and babies in need. The act of Red Rose Rescue is considered an act of charity toward women who believe they have no choice but to have their unborn children killed. Participants willingly take risks to support these women and their babies, entering the very places where the unborn are terminated to extend assistance to the mothers. If this help is refused, they remain in the abortion centers as a show of solidarity with the helpless victims oppressed by the injustice of abortion.
