Tears roll down Tobi’s eyes as the world stood still singing the Nigerian anthem in Oregon USA, July 25

A Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Gabriel took to his Facebook Page, to hail the Nigerian Athlete, Tobi Amusan who broke the World Record and her own record within the space of one hour.

In Fr. Gabriel's text: "Tobi Amusan just broke the world record twice in 100m hurdles, in a space of one hour. The first one was during semifinals, she ran 12:12. Then, after about one hour, they did the finals, and she broke again her own world record, she ran 12:06. And took the first position, won us Gold.

"Isn’t this how it’s supposed to be! A nation most gifted in all things, but terrible leaders keep dragging her in mud. I’ve always felt moody seeing Jamaicans and black Americans beating us, the core home Africans, in athletics. My only daily prayer for my nation is: may good leaders happen to Nigeria my country."

"Wipe your tears nwa m, ife ga-adi mma."

The last paragraph of Fr. Gabriel's text is written in English language, then Igbo. This text, "Wipe your tears nwa m, ife ga-adi mma," means "wipe your tears my child, things will get better"

Fr. Gabriel is known for his simple teaching and preaching on his Facebook Page where he had amassed a 57,000 and more followers. From what we can drive from his post on the achievement of Tobi Amusan, his point is that God should help us with leaders who will see and help build the potentials in the young ones and help build these talents.

He prayed that good leaders will happen to Nigeria, as this is the only solution to the problem the Country is facing.
