'I prefer to give my vote to a stingy Man, than to give a person who will lavish the Country's resources.'

The Pastor of Saint Dominic Catholic Church Yaba, Rev. Fr. Charles Onwordi OP. said he prefers to vote for someone who is stingy, than to vote for someone who will lavish the Country's resources.

He made this known, while addressing the Parishioners, during the Holy Masses of Sunday, June 19, 2022, which happens to be the International Fathers' Day. Although, he did not mention names, but what he said was actually referring to the remark made by Rev. Fr. Ejike Camillus Mbaka, on Wednesday, June 15, 2022

Fr. Mbaka, referred to the incumbent President, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi as a 'stingy Man.' He said he would rather prefer an old Man, who is not stingy and will languish the Country's resources to become the President than a young but stingy Man.

The Pastor, then went ahead to inform the Parishioners, that as part of the Parish's effort to make things work in Nigeria, the PPC(Parish Pastoral Council), the PLC(Parish Laity Council) and the JDPC(Justice Development and Peace Commission) had come together to bring INEC(Independent National Electoral Commission) Officials to Saint Dominic Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 9:00am to 3:00pm. He explained that the Parish wants all Parishioners of Saint Dominic to be part and parcel of the forthcoming 2023 General elections.

The Pastor also, since that Sunday happens to be the International Father's Day, prayed for all Fathers and assigned all Women and Children to appreciate their Daddies with a kiss, thanking him for always providing for the family.
