Fr. Simeon Irabor condemn the Reality TV. Show, Big Brother Naija

The Parish Priest of Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Catholic Church, Clegg, Surulere, Very Rev. Fr. Simeon Irabor had on Sunday, August 21, condemned the Reality TV. Show, Big Brother Naija.

On the 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C, Fr. Irabor, during his homily condemned the Reality TV. Show. He started by asking the Congregation, "how many of you watch Big Brother.?" When he asked this question, no hands were raised. He then laughed saying, "you won't raise your hand because you know it's an immoral Show."

He continued by explaining that the Devil can in the tiniest of ways get to whomever he wants and the Big Brother Naija Show is one of them. The Big Brother Naija Show demoralizes us by bringing to public, those things we are supposed to be ashamed of. We then find Parents and guardians sitting down to see the Show with their Children or Wards, who are not advanced in age, making them know that what they see is normal.
He advised that Parents should help their Children desist from such attitude that exposes and kill their morals.

He also said that Parents nowadays, pamper their Children, whereby, sparing the Rod and spoiling the Child and when these Children grow up, they become Terrors to the Society because there is no breed of sympathy and moral lessons in them.

August 23 also happens to be the birthday of Fr. Irabor. We, Catholic Gist Int'l, wish him a very happy Birthday.

Fr. Simeon Irabor is a Catholic Priest in the Archdiocese of Lagos, who is currently the Parish Priest of Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Catholic Church, Clegg, Surulere, Lagos. He was transferred to Queen of Nigeria in 2018 as the Parish Priest of the Church and he has since held position till date. Fr. Irabor is known for his simplicity, where most Priests are not too approachable. Some Parishioners also describe him as 'that Priest that must talk about politics during homily', for he will always talk about the deteriorated State of the Nigerian economy during homily.

May the Lord, who had called him to be a Shepherd of his Flock, give him the graces to be like that Good Shepherd in the Parable of the Lost Sheep. Amen
