Mr. Kabeer Maje Muhammed commented on the story of Catholics in ABU Zaria, not being allowed in their usual place to celebrate the Holy Mass

One Mr. Peter Omachonu Onalo had taken to his Facebook Timeline to bring to the notice of the public, a government restriction, that unpermitted a Catholic Community to celebrate the Holy Mass in their usual place of worship.

According to Mr. Omachonu, "Again today, the Catholic Community on Kongo Campus ABU Zaria(St. Augustine of Hippo Chapel Kongo Campus) was denied access into the Multi Purpose Hall where they have been celebrating Mass for the past 15 years."

"Mass was celebrated outside today as a directive was received from the office of the Director instructing that the Church returns the letter that was issued to them 15 years ago giving them permission to worship in the Hall until such a time when a permanent site is approved."

"15 years down the lane, no permanent site, now, the hall to is to be restricted. All of this in a Country where there is freedom of worship. Please friends help me repost this until it gets to the appropriate authorities."

Kabeer Maje Muhammed's side of the Story

Kabeer Maje Muhammed, who is a trained, registered and practicing quantity surveyor at the Ahmadu Bello University, took to the comment section to debunk the news as false and not well investigated.

In his comment Kabeer said "very responsible question. I respect your submission sir.

I am sure you're conversant with this environment since you wrote MPH (Multi-purpose hall). This is a Hall that is legitimately used as a a lecture Hall for Students of the Campus and on Sundays utilised by our Christian brethren for their Sunday service (allocated temporarily) because there is a central Church just opposite the location.

However, the kongo campus has no venue for CBT (computer based test) while the main campus has at least Four venues (even though larger in land, facilities and Students). The University and Institute management worked round the clock, pushed, lobbied and sourced for funds to execute the project for an improved quality education and got approval to get one for the kongo campus students.

The MPH is the best suitable and available location which was professionally identified. The leadership of the worshippers were well and convincingly informed and have agreed to be given another venue while there are at least 5 shops to be demolished and other small petty traders where they get their daily bread were also automatically removed in order to achieve the desired project, all of which are Muslims but this guy doesn't know or cared to know but went ahead to mis-inform the public. On investigation he doesn't even worship there but neighbouring FCE. It's quiet a pity!

For the records A.B.U remain the most Nationalist University in Nigeria (refer to JAMB Awards) where 774 local governments are represented either as Student or Staff and I challenge anybody that has a superior argument to mention that University/Federal Polytechnic/FCE throughout the Country including Peter Onalo's state (wherever).

This cheap blackmail, misinformation and fake news will not change any position as work has already commenced in earnest.
