Many People have always asked, 'How did Saint Joseph die?'

His departure is known as the perfect example of a "happy death". Few data are known about the life of Saint Joseph, the adoptive father of Jesus. He is only mentioned a few times in the gospels, and he never utters a word.

However, most biblical scholars believe that Joseph died before the public life of Jesus began. This belief is due to the fact that Joseph was not present at the preaching, ministry, death of Jesus, and, in the Gospel of John, Jesus entrusts his mother to someone outside the family (John 19:27).

Taking into account this historical argument, many traditions hold that Joseph died in the arms or in the presence of Jesus and Mary. He is a beautiful image, which has prompted the Church to proclaim Joseph the patron saint of a "happy death." A private revelation to a Saint goes like this:

Then Joseph, a man of God, turned to Christ, our Lord, and in deep reverence, wished to prostrate himself before Him. But sweet Jesus approached and received him in his arms and, reclining his head towards him, Joseph said: “ My most high Lord and God, Son of the eternal Father, Creator and Redeemer of the World, give your blessing to your servants and the work of their hands. O Merciful One, forgive the mistakes I have made in your service and relationship. I praise and magnify him and represent him eternal and understanding. Thank you for having chosen me, with inexpressible condescension, to be the husband of your Mother, may her greatness and glory be my thanksgiving for all eternity”.

The Redeemer of the World gave him his blessing and added: “My Father, rest in peace and in the grace of my eternal Father and mine, and for the prophets and saints who await you in limbo, bring them the happy news of the arrival of his redemption." At these words of Jesus, and reclining in his arms, the fortunate Saint Joseph passed away and the Lord himself closed his eyes."

Whatever happened, Joseph should have died happily surrounded by the most loving wife and son in the universe. Below is a brief prayer to Saint Joseph, where he is asked to mediate for us so that our death is happy.

Let us pray...

Oh, blessed Joseph!, who breathed his last breath between Jesus and Mary, grant me the grace, oh Joseph, so that I can breathe my soul in praise in spirit, if I cannot do it in words: “Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I give you my heart and my soul”

❤️🙏 Amen 🙏❤️
